Accreditation Process

EACCP accreditation formally recognizes physicians with advanced competence in colposcopy and cervical pathology. The process is structured, selective, and designed to ensure long-term clinical relevance.

Accreditation Steps

Pre-Application

  • Physicians must meet eligibility requirements based on training, licensure and clinical focus
  • The pre-application stage confirms suitability for the program without requiring full submission
  • Only selected applicants are invited into the full accreditation pathway

Initial Accreditation

  • Involves completion of a structured educational program delivered in both online and in-person formats
  • Includes a practical component
  • Participants are evaluated through methods appropriate to clinical performance and decision-making
  • Accreditation is granted only after successful completion of all program components

Maintaining Accreditation

  • Accredited physicians must engage continuously throughout the 3-year cycle
  • This includes monthly documentation of selected clinical activities, following EACCP-defined parameters
  • Lack of participation or reporting may result in ineligibility for reaccreditation

Reaccreditation

  • Available only to those who have fully complied with all reporting and engagement requirements during the 3-year term
  • Physicians who meet the criteria may undergo a streamlined reaccreditation process
  • Those who fail to meet requirements must restart the full accreditation pathway from the beginning

Decisions

  • Accreditation and reaccreditation outcomes are reviewed by EACCP committees using structured, predefined standards
  • Possible outcomes include: Accredited, Accredited with Distinction, or Not Accredited
  • All decisions are final unless formally appealed

Reconsiderations & Appeals

  • Physicians may request formal review of decisions if they believe the outcome does not reflect their performance or submitted documentation
  • Appeals must follow the EACCP Appeals Policy and be submitted within the stated timeframe
