Candidates who pass the pre-application stage embark on the Initial Accreditation process, a structured pathway combining theoretical learning, hands-on practice, and clinical assessment, to earn EACCP accreditation in colposcopy.

Program Overview

The Initial Accreditation process mirrors the rigor and depth of Comprehensive Colposcopy training:

Hybrid format (online + in-person) delivering core principles of colposcopic assessment, diagnostic accuracy and case-based management
Supervised practical training within approved clinical centers
Structured assessment involving image interpretation, biopsy technique and decision-making based on standardized protocols

Key Steps

Step 1	E-Learning Modules – Cover foundational topics and current guidelines
Step 2	In-Person Practicum – Live sessions with guided interpretation and simulation
Step 3	Portfolio Submission – Compile documented colposcopies and reflective cases for evaluation
Step 4	Review Panel Evaluation – A faculty-led panel assesses competence and portfolio quality
Step 5	Accreditation Decision – Awarded only upon full completion of education, practicum and clinical competency demonstration

All curricular modules completed within the designated timeframe

Attendance in a supervised in-person session at a center of excellence

Submission of a final case portfolio meeting EACCP’s technical and quality standards

There is only one level of accreditation, awarded after successful completion of all stages
Partial completion does not qualify for certification
Accreditation is granted for three years, subject to ongoing monthly reporting
Non-compliance with any requirement disqualifies eligibility; reaccreditation requires restarting the full process
